Grades Sixth through Eighth: The goals for the leaders of students in grades sixth through eighth grade are to provide a safe environment while the students are traveling through their faith journey experiences and to provide opportunities for students to discuss their faith, live out their faith and create a community among those who gather. Students are encouraged to participate in worship, retreats, service projects, and social events held throughout the year.
If you have a student in this age group and would like to get him or her involved, or if you yourself would like to volunteer with this great group, please contact our Youth Director, Luis Ochoa at Luis@goodshepluth.org or at
Confirmation (Typically Seventh and Eighth Students): Confirmation is a great opportunity for seventh and eighth grade students to dive deeper into their faith journey. Students are asked to make a commitment to attend the confirmation sessions each week, as well as participate in worship (and take worship notes), service projects, retreats, outings and social events.
Confirmation students meet on Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. through 7:00 p.m. during the school year. We have great participation from the parents who bring dinners, provide rides and support the confirmation program.
If you have a seventh or eighth grade student would like for them to be able to explore their faith journey, please contact the office at firstname.lastname@example.org or our Youth Director, Luis Ochoa at Luis@goodshepluth.org or call us at 907-376-3522 for more information.
If you're really daring, stick around for the class and help facilitate these discussions!
