Sunday School

Good Shepherd is proud to have such a lively group of young people, and a great array of teachers for our Sunday
School program.

Each Sunday, during the school year, Sunday School is held at 10:00 a.m. for an hour between regular worship services.  At Sunday School, we start with a time of singing (dancing optional!) and worship, then break up into smaller groups for stories from the bible, arts & crafts, and a snack.

This school year, 2013-2014, we are using the curriculum "Holy Cow" for pre-school to 4th grade and "Connect" for the 5th and 6th grade students. With the use of this curriculum, the teachers have found that the children are remembering the stories from week to week because each week builds onto the next. Sunday school classes are broken down into the following age groups:
  • Preschool-Kindergarten
  • First - Second Grades
  • Third - Fourth Grades
  • Fifth - Sixth Grades
  • Seventh and eighth grade students meet on Tuesdays for Confirmation Study.
  • High school students meet on Wednesdays for youth ministries.

Teachers have incorporated a "Children's Service" one Sunday a quarter. This worship service is conducted by the youth with lots of music and a skit to deliver the message. The response has been great and all worshipers have enjoyed the services.
